Morning roll call. Every morning the Indians are required to sit or stand in front of their teepees, to be counted by two commissioned officers, consisting of the old and new officers of the day. When a child is born they are brought out in the line to be registered, that they may draw their regular rations the same as an adult.

Has had over 100 engagements with tier natural enemies, the Crows, of which he proudly boasts, but is too shrewd to acknowledge to having killed whites. He has 9 wives.
