Letters and transcript to the American Volga Relief Society from Schoolmaster Carl Johann Schmidt and the Trottno family, dated December 1, 1923. The letter from Schmidt describes the conditions in Klein Romanov, including the number of inhabitants, widows, orphans, and livestock before and after the war and asks for aid. The letter from Friedrich and Ida Trottno is to Emma, Ida's sister in Canada. The transcription is an English translation.
