Description:
Two letters and transcripts from the Dittel village in Russia to the American Volga Relief Society, dated October 31, 1923. The first letter explains that the village had elected a commission for the relief effort and is signed by Jacob Velte, schoolmaster in Dittel. The second letter is from the Dittel commission and lists the number of inhabitants, widows, orphans, and livestock before and after the war. Transcriptions are English translations.
