Description:
This history of Pleasant Valley School discusses its initial construction and how the district was a consolidation of Districts 35 and 30. It gives the name of a Civil War Veteran named Mr. Hoke who helped build the schoolhouse. It lists past directors, teachers and school board members. The report includes anecdotes of landmarks within the district and an account by Mr. Edwards, who lived near the school, and in territorial times was scalped by Indians but survived. A number of past students who have continued their studies at advanced levels are mentioned.
