Thomas O’Donnell lived in North Platte, Nebraska, and did construction work for the Union Pacific Railroad. This collection contains a reminiscence, written by Thomas O’Donnell, about life in North Platte, Nebraska, 1867, and includes such incidents as public lynchings and whippings and blizzards. O’Donnell also lists the names of men in his Union Pacific railroad construction work group in Sidney, Nebraska, 1868, and describes the relationship between white men and Pawnee Indians, as well as battles with the Sioux Indians.
